Membership Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 11:20 AM. CST
There were 39 people in attendance

1. Voting ballots were passed out to paid members

2. Erik Nelson gave a presentation for Pro Kart Indoors including discounts for MKA members

3. President Jim Barnett announced that Lori Zimmerman will not be returning to MKA to do the concession stand job.

4. Jim announced that talks are continuing with Scott Paape about racing at USAIR (Shawano Wisconsin).

5. The Birchwood Wisconsin street race will take place on July 4th 2009

6. The 2009 race directors will be Josh Goar and Nick Greader

7. Peter Atkinson gave a presentation about MKA racing on the autocross track in Eau Claire Wisconsin on June 27th and September 12th 2009. The technical college at Eau Claire is interested in having MKA put on a parking lot race on the same track that they will use for Autocross racing on the next day (Sunday)

8. Track Configurations.

9. MKA voting members filled out an interest form on the different potential track configurations for 2009. The final track configurations for 2009 will be determined by the results from these forms.

10. There was more discussion on the mandating of front bodywork for the 4-cycle classes. No decision has been made at this time. There will probably be a general membership voting on this issue at the next general membership meeting.

11. Jim Barnett stated that Lori Akey has negotiated a rate of $53.00 per night (plus applicable taxes) for the Days Inn motel that we have stayed in for the last three + years. This rate is applicable to all MKA racers with at least one week advance reservations. Cancellations need to be made one week in advance as well.

12. WKA has mandated full sized rear bumpers for all 2 cycle classes but MKA is still considering weather to follow this rule change or not.

13. TAG USA does not allow front brakes. MKA has decided to follow this rule. On Tag karts the front ` brakes must be disabled to the satisfaction of the daily race director.

14. The Board of Directors elected at this meeting were Peter Atkinson, Eric Pitzele, and DeDe Tabor.

A motion was made to adjorn, seconded, and passed at 12:17 PM cst
