Competition Class Requirements
6.1
Kid Karts (Speedsters)
Current WKA rules apply in this
class except for those set forth in this document.
6.1.1 Age limitation is from
five to seven years of age.
6.1.2 Engine Comer C-50 Box
Stock, unaltered, 1.8 HP, Fixed jet carb, Jet size
#54 through #58.
6.1.3
“Speedsters” (Kid Kart drivers) who have
demonstrated racing experience over a race season or
more may participate in MKA events using the stock
carburetor as described in the WKA Tech Manual
minus the restrictor “pill”. New or novice Kid
Kart drivers must use carburetors as described in the
WKA Tech Manual that does contain the
restrictor “pill”. The back of their helmets should be
marked with a noticeable X, designating novice status
and they will start events at the rear of the grid. At
such time that these drivers demonstrate adequate
driving skill and request is made by parent or guardian,
removal of the restrictor “Pill” may occur by order of
the Race Director for MKA events.
This is a noncompetitive training
class. Although it is not a Championship Series Class
all participants will receive trophies and awards
throughout the season and at the banquet at the end of
the season.
6.2 FOUR CYCLE COMPETITION
CLASS REQUIREMENTS
Current WKA rules apply, unless specified here in
“Competition Class Requirement”. The Midwest Karting
Association Competition Rules and Regulations supersedes
WKA rules.
Five or six inch diameter wheels may be used in four cycle
classes and tires are open.
No
front braking systems are allowed.
Any dry clutch allowed in all classes except World
Formula which must use a Premier clutch – (no axle
clutches allowed).

Full body work or CIK type bodywork allowed.
All
bodywork must be neat in appearance. Bodywork that
appears loose will be a mechanical black flag. Mounting
must be secure and of good workmanship.
Muffler required. All 4‑Cycle Motors must use the RLV‑B91XL
(part no. 4104) Exhaust Silencer at all times.
All weight added to meet minimum kart/driver weight
requirements shall be bolted to the kart. Carrying of
the ballast on the driver's person is prohibited.
Ballast weight in all karts must be securely bolted to
the kart with a minimum of 5/16 inch Grade 5 or better
through‑bolt. All ballast securing bolts must be safety
wired, cotter keyed or double nutted. Weights shall be
painted white and marked with the kart number.
Oil catch tank mandatory. It must be secured to reduce
possibility of spillage. Securing it to the rear bumper
is not allowed.
Stock or WKA approved aftermarket billet rods are
allowed in all Animal classes.
